Dannon Shares Its Passion for Yogurt with Its Westchester Neighbors
Dannon Employees Will Distribute More Than 2,500 Cups of Yogurt at Local Food Festival
White Plains, New York, September 18, 2013 – On Sunday, September 22, The Dannon Company will bring its mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible by distributing more than 2,500 cups of yogurt and thousands of coupons for a complimentary cup of Dannon yogurt to attendees at the Southern Westchester Food & Wine Festival (http://sowefwf.com/).
“With more than 200 employees, Dannon is very much a part of Westchester County and has called Westchester home for more than 25 years,” said Michael Neuwirth, Senior Director of Public Relations for The Dannon Company. “In addition to being a great place to work, we’re going a step further to share our passion for yogurt with our neighbors at the first Southern Westchester Food & Wine Festival.”
As part of its Platinum Sponsorship of the festival, Dannon is co-presenting the Chef Demo Stage, and “Danoners” (Dannon employees) will hand out a variety of yogurts and smoothies, including Dannon® Oikos® Greek nonfat yogurt, Activia® Greek, Light & Fit® Greek, and Danimals® Smoothies at multiple yogurt sampling stations. Danoners will be on hand throughout the Festival to distribute free cups of yogurt while supplies last and educate attendees about the many benefits of eating yogurt every day.
“Despite its seeming popularity, most people don’t know just how versatile and nutrient-dense yogurt is and how many benefits it has,” added Neuwirth. “When compared to other parts of the world, Americans don’t enjoy yogurt as often and oftentimes choose less-healthy options. Eating just one yogurt every day can be a first step toward creating a balanced diet and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.”
Providing better food choices with a long-term goal of impacting public health is not only engrained in the company culture, but company employees also embody similar values.
“I’ve lived in the area for more than 30 years and have worked at Dannon for nearly as long,” said Danoner Nancy Dachille. “Over the years, we’ve developed a range of products that are great for the entire family. I’m excited to educate my neighbors and friends about the benefits of yogurt and help them discover their favorite flavors, textures and styles.”
The Southern Westchester Food & Wine Festival will be held on Sunday, September 22, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Scarsdale Village.
